AC/DC are an Australian hard rock band, formed in November 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who have remained constant members. Commonly referred to as a hard rock or blues rock band, they are also considered pioneers of heavy metal and are sometimes classified as such, though they have always dubbed their music as simply "rock and roll". To date they are one of the highest-grossing bands of all time.
____________________________
Metallica is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. The band's fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggressive musicianship placed them as one of the founding "big four" of thrash metal alongside Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. Metallica formed in 1981 when James Hetfield responded to an advertisement that drummer Lars Ulrich had posted in a local newspaper.
The band earned a growing fan-base in the underground music community and critical acclaim with its first four albums, with their third, Master of Puppets (1986), described as one of the most influential and "heavy" thrash metal albums. Metallica achieved substantial commercial success with their eponymous fifth album (also known as The Black Album), which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. With this release the band expanded its musical direction resulting in an album that appealed to a more mainstream audience.

_______________

Blues is the name given to both a musical form and a music genre that originated in African-American communities of primarily the "Deep South" of the United States around the end of the 19th century from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads. The blues form, ubiquitous in jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll is characterized by specific chord progressions, of which the twelve-bar blues chord progression is the most common. The blue notes that, for expressive purposes are sung or played flattened or gradually bent (minor 3rd to major 3rd) in relation to the pitch of the major scale, are also an important part of the sound.
The blues genre is based on the blues form but possesses other characteristics such as specific lyrics, bass lines, and instruments. Blues can be subdivided into several subgenres ranging from country to urban blues that were more or less popular during different periods of the 20th century. Best known are the Delta, Piedmont, Jump, and Chicago blues styles. World War II marked the transition from acoustic to electric blues and the progressive opening of blues music to a wider audience, especially white listeners. In the 1960s and 1970s, a hybrid form called blues-rock evolved.
"The blues takes many forms... It is variously a feeling, a mood, a nameless threat, a person, a lover, a boss man, a mob, and, of course, the Devil himself. It is often experienced as both cause and effect, action and reaction, and it can be used as both hex and counterhex, poison and antidote, pain and relief. Most importantly, the blues is both the cause of song, and song itself..."

As a real life artist, I have participated in many exhibits and juried shows. Here in Second Life, I bring the same paintings to exhibit. I have been in SL since Feb. 2010 and had exhibited at Pirats, Parks Gallery, Born Museum and various different exhibits.

My abstracts are about movement, layering, and dealing with the subconscious anxiety. As a calligrapher, I applied the paint in a calligraphic manner to produce imageries only left for the viewer to interpret.

My still lifes is simple. A fruit or two. But they interact like people. They are painted in oil and cold wax to give a matted look. A textured look.

If you have any questions about works, please feel free to IM me.

Tani Thor: Are you an artist in real life and what brought you in Second Life?
Kayly Iali: I am a real life artist in Northern California. I exhibit locally and participate in painting events.
I became aware of Second Life when I read an article in a newspaper. It sounds intriguing but I was not computer savvy to try it out. Then right before I graduated with my second bachelor, I decided to give it a try on a new laptop that I received. It was frustrating and had almost quit. But through chances meetings I was able to make SL work and eventually started exhibited in SL.

Tani: Where do you get inspiration for your work?
Kayly: I started painting and exhibiting abstracts when I was in college. My abstracts are based on my ability as a calligrapher, to be able to manipulate the brush in a calligraphic way...to create expressive lines.

Tani: What kind of technique do you use?
KaylyI work in oils and love how the paint feels like butter when spread across the canvas with a brush or a spatula. My abstracts are built on layers, So I do a lot of layering and glazing to create history of my work on the painting.

Tani: There is a site where you/we can enjoy your creations?
KaylyYou can visit my website: www.marleneleeart.com

Tani:  What is art for you in Second Life?
KaylyI love to see other artists' works especially from outside the US. There is no other way for me to meet these artists but only in SL.

Tani: Have you ever tried to create art in SL?
KaylyI had attempted doing some SL sculptures but my RL time is important for me to produce more art. So I don't spend that much time in SL to allow time to create...only to exhibit.

Tani: There are artists in SL that you like the most?
KaylyDefinitely! Ieko Catnap, Xirana Oximoxi, Gracie Kendal, Luciella Lutrova, Michaelangelo Montague, Ohsoleomio, Samara Barzane, Winter Nightfire, Antenna Rae to name a few. It is exciting to see their RL works here in SL plus being able to talk to the artist that I would never would have met in RL. This is what makes SL so special. Oh add Slaaa Tenk to the list...I just met her.

Lewis Allan "Lou" Reed (March 2, 1942 – October 27, 2013) was an American musician, singer and songwriter. After serving as guitarist, vocalist, and principal songwriter of the Velvet Underground, his solo career spanned several decades.
After his departure from the group, Reed began a solo career in 1972. He had a hit the following year with "Walk on the Wild Side", but subsequently lacked the mainstream commercial success its chart status seemed to indicate. Reed was known for his distinctive deadpan voice, poetic lyrics and for pioneering and coining the term ostrich guitar tuning.

Until: November13rd

Calypso Applewhyte says:
"All is not necessarily beautiful in Second Life; and what is, deserves to be shown whenever possible.
The discovery of Photoshop 3 years ago has allowed me to reconnect with some form of artistic expression, long shelved due to lack of time and space (yes, it takes time and space to draw!). I learn this tool every day, and Second Life is a wonderful support when we look carefully.
Pic by Calypso Applewhyte
Today, I am always looking to capture beautiful Sims. But I also make artistic compositions with or without animations.
And nothing is more true to say Second Life is a wonderful artistic medium when you look good.
I hope you enjoy your time watching what Second Life and its residents offer us."

Maloe Vansant says:

I am a passionate SL photographer, trying to show that avatars can have emotions, my close ups reflect those feelings of sadness and joy , most of these pictures are from my own avatar she is my pixel soul, or from my dearest Burk Bode my companion and love in SL.

Pic by Maloe Vansant

Tani: What brought you in Second Life?
CalypsoOne episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Manhattan. Yes, it's true! And therefore the curiosity to see what it was really.
Maloe: I came in SL because i was was curious after i read an article in a magazine, and i fell immediately in love with this game, although i never played or even chatted on the internet!

Tani: What is art for you in Second Life?
Calypso: For me, art in SL is the real kind. Without it, the world would collapse.
Maloe: I can be amazed by the variety of all those artistic people here in SL, can be a builder as William Weaver who's constructions are like real artwork with light and shadow play as well a designer of clothes, to many to name one or the art pictures of Harbor Galaxy whom are each of them little paintings, fantastic sim builders as Rebeca Bashley and Capcat Ragu.

Pic by Calypso Applewhyte

Tani: What prompted you to make art in Second Life?
Calypso: Other activities don't suit me. And doing nothing is not bearable for me. So, I started to photograph what I like in world. And when you start, you always want to go further.
MaloeJust coincidence a combination of the joy making pics here and the pleasure to photoshop them.

Tani: What  inspire  your creations?
Calypso: Anything can inspire me. It's unpredictable.
Maloe: My avatar and all the beautiful weirdy stuff i can buy for her.

Tani: Are you an artist in RL?
Calypso: No.
Maloe: Am not an artist in RL.

Tani: Is there any artist that inspires you in SL or RL?
Calypso: Oh surely unconsciously.
Maloe: Some painters and photographers, depends on the mood i am, like Oleg Dou or Micheal Borremans.

Pic by Maloe Vansant

Tani: There is a site where you can enjoy your creations?
Calypso: Not yet.

Tani: What are the creative techniques that you use in your work?
Calypso: Photoshop and scripted prims for animations
Maloe: Am a very basic photoshopper, but a good taken picture does the most.

Tani: Projects for your artistic future in Second Life?

Calypso: Work to improve and discover new opportunities
Maloe: I have some exhibitions at gallery assis and next month will be my new exhibition there.

Miuccia Klaar @ tKF

Tanalois Art and torno Kohime Foundation
have the pleasure to invite you
to the opening of the art exhibition by

Miuccia Klaar

Wednesday , October 23th - 1.30 pm slt - 22.30 IT

Promo: http://youtu.be/OMkZxHutqKw

Tani Thor: What brought you in Second Life?
Miuccia Klaar: I saw an article in a magazine about SL in 2006, and later I decided to see what kind of game was that Second life. So I logged in, but I didn't understand anything. I could barely walk, just in circles and against walls (still do :D) and I thought was a waste of time after like two hours... So I've stopped and just two weeks later I decided to have a go again... and I'm still here :)))).

Tani: What is art for you in Second Life?
Miuccia: Anything that evokes beauty… can be a paint, a photography, an avatar, a Sim and most of all a mood.
Beauty for me is also dystopia, I have a great attraction for everything that is dystopic.

Tani: What prompted you to make art in Second Life?
Miuccia: I used to follow carefully a few people that for me are great artists in SL; some in blogs, others in websites like Flickr. To mention just a few I will choose two: Strawberry Singh was the first blogger that made me notice how pictures in SL could be so inspiring. I think she is a great example in SL, how she improved and the way she shares her knowledge with everyone. My partner Squonk Levenque is the person that I should "blame" for doing all this now, he is an amazing artist, in RL and SL, he has the talent to create beautiful moods in his RL pictures and in SL in the sims he built, like Treptower Park; Rain and Felona & Sorona, this last one with a special meaning for both of us. I think that anyone that ever been in his sims knows what I mean with the special moods that he's able to create. He taught me loads of things, gave me the tools, Photoshop and a Wacom table (that I don't use :D) and he makes me keep going always. Ah and Tani I must thank him for the little italian that I pretend to speak (laughs).

Tani: What inspire your creations?
Miuccia: I am a contradiction in my own creations :))). I can be totally turned on by some yellow flowers that I must shoot...or a very dark depressive ambiance can have the same effect. Sometimes I am looking at amazing artists here in SL that follow a kind of work and that we know almost just by looking that belongs to them, and I think that I would like to be able to do the same. But I can't because I am eager to do many different things all at the same time, as you can see in my streams. But give me some gorgeous sim... and there I am... for hours... breathing it (laughs)

Tani: Are you an artist in rl?
MiucciaNo I am not. I come from a different area - psychology.

Tani: Is there any artist that inspires you in SL or RL?
Miuccia: Oh yes, there are many. In RL I could name Ray Ceaser; Viveros and Dilka Bear for instance. In SL I admire hugely many people that take my breath away with their work, I will nominate just one because she is my truly my biggest inspiration in SL: Annie Klavinham. I think she is a wondrous talent.

Tani: There is a site where you can enjoy your creations?
Miuccia: I have a stream in Flickr and in Koinup.

Tani: What are the techniques that you use in your work?
Miuccia: I make HUGE photos (laughs) that make anyone crazy when I try to send it over by mail.
I've learned this with my dear friend Warmanimations Lisa, the entire picture is so much easier to work afterwards, then I work with Photoshop and textures that I collect all over Flickr - thank you so much for all of you that let us use your creations. In this exhibition I will have a few works where I am trying some new techniques, they come out much more "raspy" and I'm enjoying the way they look. Let's hope everyone else does too :))).

Tani: Projects for your artistic future in Second Life?
Miuccia: I've been very busy lately with RL, which leaves me very little time for SL and my artwork. I keep planning things and having new ideas, but sometimes is just too hard to go in and do it. But I have hope (smiles)! Besides that, is very good to login and see invitations to expose my stuff. Unfortunately due to my lack of time I can't accept all for now, but is with great pleasure that I will be in exposing in Red Lines Gallery at Torno Kohime Foundation. Grazie mille Tani and all the team.
